António Serrador as contributed to D3.1 with networks systems energy efficiency metrics and initial results based on radio resource management algorithms. Filipe Cardoso is contributing to the finalisation of D4.1.

Work on a White paper on “Smart Cities” has begun.
NEWCOM++ – http://www.newcom-project.eu
António Serrador has contributed to the ViCE-WiCom platform (http://www.vicewicom.eu) with the “Train Station Scenario”, which is an open collaboration space where educational material and research partners in the area of wireless communication can be found. António Serrador and Luisa Caeiro have contributed to DR9.3 (WPR9 final deliverable) on radio resource management and networks virtualisation. Carla Oliveira and Michal Mackowiak contributed to DR1.3 on statistical models for Body Area Networks.

With the beginning of another school year, public actions in schools have returned. In this period, there was a collaboration with the Secondary School of Tramagal, Santarém, including measurements and a presentation; and several actions have already been scheduled for the upcoming months. Also, the 2nd Edition of Prémio monIT had around 100 applications, from 48 schools of 15 districts and 2 autonomous regions, comprising 380 students and 56 teachers.

Lúcio Ferreira and Luisa Caeiro are working on the definition of scenarios and use-cases within WP-C “Open Connectivity”. Daniel Sebastião and João Gonçalves are working on dissemination efforts and business analysis of the use-cases being developed within the project.
